Chris Bucknall - BA (Hons) Economics, Liverpool University - Chairman
Chris is a leading businessman with experience of running major multinational firms.
Chris previously worked for 20 years with Compass Group, having been part of the management buyout team that successfully acquired the business from Grand Metropolitan; at the time it was the largest management buy-out in Europe. He also spent 10 years of this time serving as a non-executive director and Deputy Chairman of Galliford Try plc, a leading UK construction and house building group.
Following two years as a Non Executive Director, Chris has a remit to continue the company’s growth and extend its services to a wider customer base.

David Francis BA (Hons) FCIB FSI DTEP - Chief Executive Officer
David was educated in the UK, and joined the NatWest Group in 1987, where he specialised in Credit.
In 1996 David joined the bank’s Jersey corporate office, before joining Coutts (Jersey) Limited in 1999. There, David had responsibility for Coutts largest Offshore clients from a trust, investment and lending perspective including many high profile clients. During this time, the client base was grown significantly and David was appointed Senior Vice President in early 2004.
David left Coutts in late 2004 to become a shareholder at Horizon, David is now the largest shareholder in the Group.
David was President of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Jersey from 2001 to 2003. David also served on the Jersey Banker’s Association Main Committee tasked with improving finance training in the island and on a steering committee for the Jersey Financial Services Commission.
David is married and a current member of Jersey RFC, The Victoria Club, The Oriental Club London, and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and Securities Institute.

Lesley MacDonald - Finance Director
Lesley started her career with financial roles within UK local government departments. She then moved to Jersey and worked for Merrill Lynch for seven years before taking the role of finance mananger at Capita.
Lesley is a fellow of the ACCA and a member of the AAT and joined Horizon to take responsibility for the collation of all internal financial management information.

Peter Sayers FPC - Director
Educated in the UK and France, Peter started his career in London in 1980 where he worked in the financial advertising department, marketing to banks, insurance companies and unit trust managers. He was actively involved in the development of Money Observer, a leading personal finance magazine, during a period of rapid circulation growth combined with increasing revenues from advertising and subscription sales.
In 1995, Peter returned to Jersey and joined Alexander Forbes Financial Services as a senior consultant advising High Net Worth clients on investments, pensions and tax planning. His responsibilities included developing an offshore marketing strategy for the business, including advertising in specialist media, which successfully targeted UK expatriates and English speaking foreign nationals on a global basis.
Peter has passed all three papers of the Financial Planning Certificate.

Andy Treharne - Chief Operating Officer
Andy, who was educated in the UK, joined the Horizon team with a wealth of experience within the Jersey financial sector having moved to the Island in 1990.
He started his career with NatWest in Portsmouth but his most recent role has been as Area Retail Manager for RBSI/NatWest locally with responsibility for all aspects of the branch network.
As Chief Operating Officer he is responsible for the overall management of the local business operation, including marketing, human resources and operations.

Daniel Noding - Head of Risk and Compliance
Daniel was born and educated to degree level in the UK before starting his career in London, where he worked in the project office and quality assurance areas of a leading IT and business services company.
In 2001 Daniel relocated to Jersey and joined Halifax International working initially in the client servicing and due diligence areas, before moving on to Bank of Scotland Offshore to take up the position of compliance officer. Subsequent to the merger that formed HBOS, Daniel continued to work within the expanded risk & compliance function and gained valuable experience in all areas of regulatory compliance, anti money laundering and risk management.
In 2003 Daniel made the decision to focus on risk management by taking up the position of Operational Risk Manager where he was responsible for the Jersey, Isle of Man and Hong Kong operations of Bank of Scotland International.
Daniel started work with Horizon in October 2007 and holds the ICA International Diploma in Compliance.

Daniel McAlister - BSc (Hons) FCSI CAIA - Head of Investments
Daniel moved to Jersey in 1995 after completing his Mathematics degree at the University of Leeds. His first professional role was on the management trainee programme at Barclays Private Bank. This covered all aspects of offshore banking, trust and investments and involved working in various offshore jurisdictions. Following the completion of this he decided to focus on trading short-term liquidity products including foreign exchange.
In 2000 he moved to Dresdner Kleinwort Benson as a portfolio manager covering trust, HNW and private clients. The centralisation of the group’s decision making, led to a move to Ermitage Asset Management in May 2002, where Daniel remained until joining Horizon in June 2010.
His initial work at Ermitage was to assist in the start up of their private client business and unitised wealth solutions. In 2004 he moved across to the hedge fund side of the organisation and was responsible for managing the Ermitage Resources Fund from its inception in June 2005. At the time of his departure he was Head of Directional Strategies and responsible for all directional hedge fund allocations including macro, CTA and commodity investments.
His professional experiences will provide Horizon with further strengths across asset allocation, manager selection and alternative investments. Daniel has been a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment since 2000 and in 2007 became a member of the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association.
He is married with three daughters. His other interests include rugby, golf and educational literature and captained Jersey RFC Ist XV to an undefeated league season and promotion in 2005.
